What is Diversity Coaching?

Coaching is a structured form of professional development. It enables you to analyze your current practice, learn new strategies, and enhance your competencies. Research shows that traditional training often has little lasting impact: Less than 20% of the content is implemented in practice. However, when coaching is integrated into training, the implementation of new methods rises to 80 - 90%.

Diversity Coaching goes beyond mere methodological training. It supports you in consciously reflecting on your attitudes and values while further developing your role as an educator. Transformation occurs not only when new strategies are learned but also when internal beliefs are questioned and evolved.

Why is Diversity Coaching Important?

The education sector is constantly evolving. Societal diversity, multilingualism, and questions of equity pose complex challenges for educators.

Diversity Coaching supports you on two levels:

  1. Instructional and didactic: You receive concrete, practical insights into diverse teaching and learning methods to create an inclusive learning environment.

  2. Personal and transformative: You reflect on your own values, attitudes, and unconscious biases to act more consciously and effectively.

During coaching sessions, you have the opportunity to:

  • Discuss your professional challenges openly and confidentially,

  • Gain new perspectives,

  • Develop and test concrete strategies,

  • Process emotional burdens, and

  • Establish long-term changes in your practice.

Structure of a Coaching Session

Each coaching session follows a clear structure:

  • Clarifying the concern: What do you want to achieve?

  • Reflection and analysis: What challenges and obstacles exist?

  • Developing new perspectives: What alternative solutions might work?

  • Action planning: What concrete steps will you take?

  • Support and reflection: What successes and challenges arise?

Coaching is confidential and tailored to your individual needs. It provides a safe space to discuss challenges, explore new approaches, and contribute to more equitable and diversity-sensitive educational practices.
